Richy's 1970 XW Ford Falcon Restoration - Pt 6

Welcome to Part 6 of Richy's XW Falcon Restoration

Now that the XW is now in a bare-metal state, we have sealed the car with an epoxy primer. The epoxy is far more durable than the primer used from the factory and has excellent corrosion resistant properties.

Having the car in one colour makes it a lot easier to inspect the damaged areas, rust pinholes, etc. From inspection, we are super happy with the body and have had no big surprises. It's exciting/daunting to know the extent of the repair work required.

After Sand blasting the frame of the LHF door. We found rust in some undesirable places. This repair will be too extensive and will cost far too much. We have sourced a better condition original door that we have painted stripped and sandblasted. We plan is to use all original metal on the LHS of the car and to showcase our remanufactured panels on the RHS (aside from the rear quarter).
