Richy's 1970 XW Ford Falcon Restoration - Pt 4

Richy's 1970 XW Ford Falcon Restoration - PT 4

Richy's XW Falcon project is coming along nicely. It's incredible the oddball things you find when stripping a car.

We thought it would be great to share with you some of the little details which we found interesting.

Photos -

Heater delete - This car was a factory heater-less vehicle. Usually, there would be a heater control in the middle of the trim along with a fan speed dial on the right

Original Ford Part - Heater delete plate. You don't see too many of these.

Firewall insulation - Untouched firewall insulation board bolt holes proving that this model never had a heater box.

Original wiring clips - There are a number of clips around the car which are not available new. It's vital to bag and tag these for a concourse finish.

Original fuel sender factory tape

Factory centre light wiring - Original wiring loom clips and Ford part number tag.

Suspension bush - Original FOMOCO suspension bush (potentially from 1970). Crazy right?

Radiator support sticker - This was interesting to see as we were always unsure if this sticker was applied to 6cyl models.

Awesome. Reminds of the heaterless 1971 F250 I had. Nice and basic. Imagine telling people these days that a heater is optional!
Thoroughly enjoying these blogs. Thanks.
